The rising sectarian bombings that have engulfed Iraq in the past few days are evidence that Iraq has sunk deeper into the ugliest civil war which cannot be brought to a halt with whatever means being adopted by the current rulers of Iraq at the moment. It is also absolutely clear that the current “Iraqi government” which was allegedly “democratically elected” under occupation is unable to provide the most basic form of security to the people it was supposed to be representing, nor do the US forces of occupation along with their allies and mercenaries all of whom are fundamentally responsible for Iraqi security as an occupation power.
The Iraqi government bears the same level of responsibility for the on-going blood-bath in Iraq as the forces of occupations in Iraq, because it has been working tireless in partnership with the occupation in pushing Iraq in the direction of the civil war by monopolising the decision process at the top and encouraging, rather than disarming the militias, loyal to some political parties and warlords, to go forth in revenge killings, assassinations of political opponents and sectarian killings by identity cards. This government worked along side the occupation in establishing the death squads arming these killing animals and providing them with the political and security cover to conduct the most grotesque crimes committed by a regime against it very own people.
Dr Harith AlDhari, the head of the peaceful Association of Muslim Scholars, was 100% correct when he accused this government for being sectarian and placed the responsibility upon its shoulders along with the occupation for these hideous and despicable indiscriminate crimes against the ordinary and innocent people of Iraq irrespective of their ethnicity, sect, colour, race or religion. He was also right to demand from the international community to withdraw their recognition of this evil regime which has proven to be a menace to its people.
The demands made by Dr AlDhari are in line with those of the organisation he heads which has vocalised its suspicions of the political process born out of occupation. Its refusal to participate in this fake process has of course earned it the wrath of the occupation and its puppet regime in Iraq which made it the target of many pro-government/occupation militias which have been engaged in the assassination, kidnap and torture of hundreds of its members, as well as direct attacks against the sanctity of the mosques which come under its umbrella.
What’s interesting is the statement by the Iraqi Vice president who confesses that the Sunnis factions in Parliament, whom he represents, have had zero influence on the political and decision making processes in Iraq. These comments by the Vice President constitute a top level admission that the political process in Iraq is monopolised by sectarian groups who have raked havoc in the country, and engaged themselves in one of the most horrific massacre of a nation. And that the engagement of the Sunnis political factions in this fake political process has been a disaster for all Iraqis because it gave a green light to the sectarian government to collaborate with the occupation in the rape of Iraq and its people.
AlDhari’s demand from the international community to cease collaboration and withdraw recognition of this evil Iraqi regime will only be heard by nations who are true to the cause of human rights, humanity and common decency. The ordinary Iraqi people will no longer be fooled by the sectarian government and/or the illegitimate political process conceived by the marriage of convenience between the current criminal regime in Iraq and the ugly occupation forces which brought the regime into occupied Iraq. The people of Iraq see everyday what the lies and deceit of the occupation and its puppet regime have brought for them: death; war horrors; blood baths; civil war; torture; grotesque immoral abuse; rape; kidnapping and disappearances; assassinations; poverty; disease; huger; break down in law and order; state-sponsored terrorism; collective punishment; naked attacks against women, children and civilians; and concentration camps.
The UN report, which stated that 4000 Iraqis are killed every month, and some 2million Iraqis have escaped in fear for their lives, is like an alarm clock that had gone off. The Iraqi people are waking up from their deep sleep to say no to this regime of torturers, thieves, criminals, genocidal killers and puppets of foreign governments.
Iraq is in desperate need of a new liberation: a genuine liberation by its own people from this evil that has been raping their land for some 4 years now. The Iraqi people need liberation from the foreign occupation and the ruling class which arrived on the occupation’s tanks and war machinery both of which taught humanity the grotesque art of nation raping, and turned the whole country into one huge mass grave.
